SWMS template Western Australia: check yours against the Work Health and Safety
Already have a SWMS, from a template or written by a chatbot? Paste it below and see which content rules it covers for Western Australia. We do not sell a template here. This is a free check of the one you have.
A checklist, not advice. This tool looks for words in the text you paste and lists which content rules it finds. It cannot judge whether your controls are safe or whether your SWMS meets the law. It is not legal or safety advice. Check your state regulator's guidance before you rely on any SWMS. Your text stays in your browser and is not sent anywhere. Independent site, not run by any regulator.
Which law applies in Western Australia
Work Health and Safety (General) Regulations 2022 (WA). Regulator: WorkSafe WA.
WA uses the model WHS law from 31 March 2022. WorkSafe WA says a SWMS must be prepared for high risk construction work before it starts, and its template lists the same high risk categories. We could not open the WA legislation text, so the section numbers shown assume model numbering; check them on legislation.wa.gov.au.
What it looks for
- Whether the SWMS names the high risk construction work, the hazards and risks, the control measures, and how controls are implemented, monitored and reviewed.
- Whether it says it is based on the circumstances at the workplace, is readable, says to stop work if not followed, and goes to the principal contractor.
- Where your text mentions them: fall controls beyond a harness or PPE, asbestos licence and clearance, trench shoring, confined space permit and rescue, isolation for energised electrical work.
