SWMS template NSW: check yours against the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2017

Already have a SWMS, from a template or written by a chatbot? Paste it below and see which content rules it covers for NSW. We do not sell a template here. This is a free check of the one you have.

A checklist, not advice. This tool looks for words in the text you paste and lists which content rules it finds. It cannot judge whether your controls are safe or whether your SWMS meets the law. It is not legal or safety advice. Check your state regulator's guidance before you rely on any SWMS. Your text stays in your browser and is not sent anywhere. Independent site, not run by any regulator.

Which law applies in NSW

Work Health and Safety Regulation 2017 (NSW). Regulator: SafeWork NSW.

This is the model WHS law. High risk construction work is defined in clause 291 and the SWMS content rules are in clause 299 (SafeWork NSW's own template refers to clause 291). Clause numbers on this page assume the same numbering as the model regulations and the Queensland text we read; we could not open the NSW legislation site, so check them on legislation.nsw.gov.au.
